I don't have any third party anti-virus or firewall software installed and my Windows 10 installation is pretty clean. Update Xbox One controller firmware via xbox app I have also tried plugging in the controller via USB but same behavior is seen. Not cause high CPU and my pc does not lock up. I tried disconnecting the xbox one controller and using my old wireless xbox 360 controller and this does

I noticed that if I open game controllers in controller panel and test the controller this causes the CPU to spike to 40% (which is one full core). I noticed yesterday that my Xbox One Wireless controller is causing high CPU in Windows 10 and its causing my PC to completely lock up when I try to play a game - this is new behavior and wasn't doing this last week.
