The cheaper kelty tents also have fiberglass poles which I would avoid like the plague. The Sierra Designs Nomad has a couple notable upgrades over the Kelty:ĭAC Aluninum poles are stronger, lighter and more reliable than no name Chinese poles found in most budget tents.

The Tallboy I would avoid because it does not have a full coverage rainfly. The Rumpus looks like it is trying to compete with the Marmot Torreya or the North Face Wawonda.
The Tallboy 6 and the Rumpus 6 which is not available yet. Kelty has two stand up full family camping tents. Better than Wenzel and Slumberjack but worse than Sierra Designs (except the Sierra Designs sold at Target which is absolute garbage). It is the mid tier brand from Exxel Outdoors.
